Since 2009, David “Deuce” Manzer II has been an active member of the Boy Scouts community. He is currently a Life Scout of Troop 164. Now, after years of dedication to the organization, Deuce is moving onto the next adventure. He is working towards earning his Eagle Scout award.
After moving back to Nebraska in 2013, Deuce and his family became members of Redeemer Lutheran Church which is also a chartered organization for Troop 164. While brainstorming ideas for his Eagle Scout project, Deuce knew he wanted to do something that would give back to his church and his community. Redeemer Lutheran Church has desired to have an outdoor worship area that has a fire pit, benches, and a patio. Deuce saw this as a perfect opportunity.
With Redeemer Lutheran Church belonging to the Faith Ambassador Parish, many people will get to enjoy the outdoor worship area. Faith Ambassador Parish is a group of five Lutheran churches that combines to share resources such as pastors. “This outdoor worship area will be shared with this parish so that other people throughout northern Dodge County can come to Redeemer to enjoy the area,” said Deuce. Many groups, including youth group will be able to use this space for meetings and activities.
Deuce hopes to raise $2,000 through RedBasket.org to purchase supplies to construct the outdoor worship area at Redeemer Lutheran Church. His goal is to have the project completed (weather permitting) by April 1. This will allow the church and its attendees to have their sunrise Easter service in the new, beautiful area. Not only will your donation help Deuce earn the honor of Eagle Scout, but it will allow him to build something that will be enjoyed by many people for years to come. Donate and share his story today!
