Celia Garay (44) is a hardworking and loving mother of three. Her children, Marisa (16), Vincent (14), and Victor (19) are her world. When she isn’t working, Celia enjoys spending time and making memories with her children whom she absolutely adores. Unfortunately, due to her recent cancer diagnosis, she has had to spend more time at hospitals than with the ones she loves most.
In December 2017, Celia found a lump in her breast during a self-exam. She immediately scheduled a mammogram with her physician. After her examination, she noticed more doctors coming in the room which worried her. Once they reviewed her results, Celia got news that changed her life. She was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.
While Celia’s diagnosis has been extremely difficult on her, the support from her family, friends, and coworkers has helped lift her spirits. When her family first learned of her diagnosis, they were shocked. However, they knew their prayers and support would make a positive impact on Celia and her kids.
Because she will be out of work for 45 days and medical bills are piling up, Celia is in need of assistance. She hopes to raise $11,930 through RedBasket.org to offset the cost of her medical bills and chemotherapy treatments. Being a single mother of three, raising these funds would make a tremendous difference in not only Celia’s life, but also the lives of her children. “If my goal is fulfilled it will be a huge relief and a burden lifted off my shoulders,” said Celia.
