The Story

Grenada, MS

Since 1994, the Grenada Food Pantry has been devoted to fighting the hunger epidemic in Grenada County. Through the years they have provided assistance to nearly 1000 households monthly, but with hunger in Grenada County at a staggering 20.8 percent, the food pantry is always in need of more donations to feed more hungry people.

The mission of the Grenada Food Pantry is to relieve poverty-related hunger in the local community. With the help of dedicated donors, staff, and volunteers, the food pantry is able to distribute food and grocery products to 1000 qualifying households per month. “Our program is ongoing monthly, so we will use the funds to purchase food for distribution to low-income residents of Grenada County,” said co-director, Kim McRee.

The Grenada Food Pantry hopes to raise $1,000 through RedBasket.org to purchase food to serve hungry individuals and families in Grenada. Raising these funds will not only make a tremendous difference for the food pantry, but it will also help improve the lives of many individuals and families struggling with food insecurity. “With additional funding, we can feed more people with a more nutritious variety of foods including fresh meat and fresh vegetables,” said Kim.

By making a tax-deductible donation, you can help improve the lives of those who aren’t sure where they’ll get their next meal. Donate and share the Grenada Food Pantry’s story today!
