The Story

Lithia Springs, GA

Chikodili “Chika” Ezenwa (29) is a hardworking woman who has a heart for helping others. Her love of helping people inspired her to work as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and go to school to study respiratory therapy. Unfortunately, due to her recent diagnosis, Chika has had to put her dreams on pause.

In July 2016, Chika was diagnosed with high blood pressure. After her diagnosis, she began taking a medication to maintain her blood pressure. This diagnosis caused some complications which prompted her to seek more medical attention from her doctor. On March 4, 2017, Chika was diagnosed with end stage renal failure; she has to undergo dialysis and is in need of a kidney transplant.

Since her diagnosis of end stage renal failure, Chika’s life has changed drastically. Due to the severity of her condition, she has been unable to work. “I have no insurance so I can’t receive consistent dialysis which leads to me having dangerous complications,” said Chika. With medical bills piling up, and the cost of procedures being high, Chika is in need of assistance.

To offset the cost of medical bills, dialysis treatments, and medications, Chika hopes to raise $6,400 through Raising these funds would improve her quality of life and would allow her to get back to living a life she loves. “I can go back to work. I can go back and finish school and start my career,” said Chika. By making a tax-deductible donation, you will make a tremendous difference in Chika’s life and help her regain her independence.
