With homelessness on the rise throughout the United States, many individuals and groups are looking for ways to give to those less-fortunate. In 2015, Kevin Lilly identified a need among the growing homeless population in and around Lancaster County, South Carolina for food and personal care. This prompted him to start an organization called Mobile Shower Ministry. This organization offers a mobile shower tent to those less fortunate, but has grown tremendously over the past couple years. This growth has expedited their need for more supplies, food, and personal hygiene products.
The mission of Mobile Shower Ministry is to help the homeless and those in need by traveling to them to offer necessities. The organization started as a mobile tent shower, but now it is so much more. They provide showers through the mobile shower truck, personal hygiene backpacks, clothes, baby care items, and a large food truck every two months. This is a one stop care platform where needy people can shower, receive new clothes, supplies, food, hygiene products, and more. “It fulfills my heart because we are meeting the needs and are able to touch one heart at a time,” said Kevin.
With the help of passionate staff, donors, and volunteers, the Mobile Shower Ministry is able to offer goods and services to those in need. In addition to the items and services Mobile Shower Ministry provides, they also work to connect clients to organizations and programs in the community that offer services they don’t.
Mobile Shower Ministry hopes to raise $2,800 through RedBasket.org to purchase supplies, food, and personal care products. Raising these funds would allow the organization to be able to purchase more supplies as well as allow them to effectively meet the growing demand in a timely manner. “It will help so many in and around our community sustain a better life,” said Kevin. By making a tax-deductible donation, you will help make a tremendous impact in the lives of many less-fortunate individuals and families. Donate and share Mobile Shower Ministry’s story today!
