The Story

Greenville, SC

Since 1987, Westside Crisis Center has been devoted to helping those in the Greenville community who are going through hard times. With the help of loyal staff, volunteers, and donors, the center has been able to provide baby supplies, clothing, and food to families in need. However, with the primary demand being the food pantry, they are always in need of funds to purchase food.

The mission of Westside Crisis Center is to provide help for people going through crises and reach them with the love of Christ. In 2017, the organization has provided assistance to 793 families so far, which is equivalent to 1,684 individuals. Families that receive assistance are able to come to the food pantry every three months to receive a supply of non-perishable food items and canned goods. The amount of food provided to families is determined by the number of individuals in the household. “We want to take into account children in the household to ensure they are being properly fed,” said Assistant Director Roger Golden. Ultimately, the amount of food given is determined on the supply.

Westside Crisis Center hopes to raise $2,160 through RedBasket.org to purchase canned food items, non-perishable food items, and metal shelves to store the food. “This campaign is important because it will provide some very basic, but much needed, necessities to people in crises who are struggling,” said Roger. By making a tax-deductible donation, you can help the Westside Crisis center continue making a difference in lives of families in the Greenville community. Donate and share their story today!
