Bruce Cook (65) is a loving family man with a passion for helping others. He has been happily married to his wife, Susan (64) for 11 years, and is the proud father of his two daughters, Melissa (38) and Lindsay (33). Since 2016, Bruce has lived an extremely active lifestyle. He spends his free time exercising and putting his heart into helping others. He has always been known for being the guy who puts others before himself. Unfortunately, with Bruce’s recent cancer diagnosis, he is in need of help himself.
In August 2017, he noticed he wasn’t feeling like himself. During this time, Bruce began to feel fatigued, and exercise was becoming increasingly difficult. These symptoms prompted Bruce to schedule an appointment with his physician. After numerous tests, Bruce was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
In January, Bruce found out he had beaten prostate cancer, so his recent diagnosis of AML came as a huge shock to him and his loved ones. This diagnosis has affected Bruce physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially. “I am unable to work, drive, run, or ride my bike,” said Bruce. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments, but with medical bills piling up, Bruce and his family are in need of assistance.
Bruce’s family hopes to raise $20,000 through RedBasket.org to offset the cost of medical bills and treatments. Raising these funds would allow Bruce and his family peace of mind, allowing them to focus on his recovery journey. “I will not be worrying about how to pay all of the bills,” said Bruce.
