The Story

columbus, MS

Since 2011, Loaves and Fishes has been devoted to providing food and hope for hungry and homeless individuals in Columbus, Mississippi. Throughout the past few years, the organization has impacted the lives of thousands of individuals in the community. With nearly 23 percent of the Columbus population struggling with food insecurity, Loaves and Fishes works tirelessly to fight hunger and provide citizens in need with a warm meal.

The mission of Loaves and Fishes is to provide nutritious meals to hungry people across Mississippi. The food pantry prepares meals for people in the Columbus area that don’t have the money to buy food and they enhance their mission by going to locations in town where the need is the strongest. With the help of dedicated staff, volunteers, and donors, Loaves and Fishes food pantry is able to provide meals for nearly 200 people per day. However, with the growing amount of hungry individuals and families in the community, the food pantry is in need of more funds to feed more people.

Loaves and Fishes hopes to raise $1,000 to purchase canned food items to replenish the shelves of the food pantry. “Everyone needs a hot meal,” said manager, Nancy Guerry. Raising these funds would allow the food pantry to continue their mission of providing hot meals to hungry individuals in the Columbus community. By making a tax-deductible donation, you can help enrich the lives of those struggling with food insecurity. Donate and share their story today!
