The Story

Ackerman, MS

Since 1997, Choctaw County Baptist Association Food Pantry has been devoted to fighting hunger in Choctaw County. With the food insecurity rate in Choctaw County at a staggering 20.4 percent, the staff and volunteers at the food pantry continuously work to fight the hunger epidemic in their community.

This mission of Choctaw County Baptist Association Food Pantry is to take care of those who can no longer fly on their own until their broken wings mend and they can get back on their feet. With the help of generous donors, dedicated staff, and devoted volunteers, the food pantry has continued to enhance their mission throughout the last 20 years. They serve nearly 265 hungry families per month which is 3,180 families per year. With the number of families struggling with food insecurity on the rise, the food pantry is always in need of funds to purchase food.

Choctaw County Baptist Association Food Pantry hopes to raise $1,000 through RedBasket.org to help replenish their food pantry. Raising these funds would allow the organization to purchase food to help more families in the community who struggle with food insecurity. “This campaign will help the food pantry to continue to feed over 250 needy people in Choctaw County,” said food pantry manager Michael Bishop. By making a tax-deductible donation, you will help feed hungry families in Choctaw County. Donate and share their story today!
