The Story

Cleveland, TN

Courtney Lewis is a loving wife and mother. She has been married to the love of her life, Adam, for eight years. Together, the couple has two kids, Brady (4) and Brookley-Kate (6), who keep them busy and on their toes. Family means everything to Courtney. When she isn’t working, she is making memories with her family. Unfortunately, due to her recent diagnosis, she has been unable to live a worry-free life.

In September 2017, Courtney was diagnosed with what was thought to be a common skin cancer. After that initial diagnosis, the Lewis family soon found out they were dealing with something more. Courtney had not one, but two diagnoses before doctors made a final verdict. On September 7, Courtney was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Myxofibrosarcoma. “Because of the rarity, the doctors and necessary treatments are at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas,” said Adam. With the couple having to take off work and the costs of travel adding up, the family is in need of some assistance.

“In the short two months we’ve been dealing with the news, it has taken some time to adjust to the idea of it all and let it sink in,” said Adam. Since Courtney’s diagnosis, the Lewises have spent a lot of time managing schedules and logistics of the multiple trips they will make to Houston for her treatments. However, through this difficult time in their lives, they have been blessed with an endless amount of support from family and friends. From prayers, phone calls and texts, to meals and offers to watch the kids, Courtney and Adam have seen a tremendous amount of support.

Courtney’s family and friends hope to raise $12,400 through RedBasket.org to assist with her medical bills and travel expenses to and from treatments. Raising these funds would allow the family to focus on Courtney’s recovery process without the added financial stress. By making a tax-deductible donation, you can help ease the Lewis family’s financial stress during this difficult time and help Courtney get back to living a life she loves. Donate and share her story today!
