The Story

Brook Park, OH

John Conrad (47) is happily married to his loving and supportive wife, Tracy. They spend all of their time together and love hanging out with family. John is an outdoorsman who loves building things. As a construction worker, he takes pride in being a hard worker and the projects he completes. Unfortunately, his livelihood is in jeopardy after being diagnosed with colon and liver cancer.

Prior to his diagnosis, John developed a lump under his rib cage that was causing his energy and strength to wane. Due to the physical nature of his job, he initially thought it was a hernia. On July 20, 2017, John visited the emergency room at MetroHealth Medical Center to get the lump looked at. He was rushed in for a CAT scan which revealed tumors on his liver. After receiving a colonoscopy, John was diagnosed with colon cancer that spread into his liver.

John’s diagnosis has completely changed his life. He currently undergoes chemotherapy treatment every two weeks. The treatments make him easily fatigued and in a constant state of low energy. His fragile health condition has prevented him from returning to work. Living off of Tracy’s income has caused his medical and daily living bills to quickly accumulate. “The stress of bills and thought of my wife losing everything we have built together is terrifying,” John said.

In need of financial assistance, John hopes to raise $10,000 through RedBasket.org to help pay for medical and daily living bills. “If our goal is fulfilled, we will be able to pay our own bills and hopefully keep a stable surrounding throughout this contending time,” said John. By making a tax-deductible donation, you can help alleviate the financial burden and allow John to fully focus on his fight against. Share his story today!
