The Story

Sparta, TN

Cross-country is a sport that requires dedication, perseverance, and heart. These three words describe the White County cross-country team perfectly. The team puts in countless hours of practice and training to better themselves in a sport that they love dearly. However, with the growing interest in cross-country, the White County team is in need of new uniforms.

With cross-country being a smaller sport, the coaches and parents have been looking for ways to fund the new uniforms for the team. The school district does not have extra funds to allow for the team to purchase new uniforms. Any money that comes from the budget is used for transportation to and from meets. “We would like to support them by purchasing uniforms that they can be proud of when going out to represent our school and community,” said Chris Sparkman, a booster member for the cross-country team.

The uniforms that the team currently wears are nearly eight years old, stained, and some are even mismatched. The athletes are so dedicated and many of them train year-round for the season. “We want our students to run hard and run with pride,” said Chris.

The White County cross-country team hopes to raise $1,500 through RedBasket.org to purchase new uniforms that can be worn not only this season, but by many athletes for years to come. Raising these funds would allow these gifted athletes to run hard and run with pride. “We believe this project will help instill worth and confidence in our students when they step outside of White County and as they travel to regional and national meets,” said Chris. By making a tax-deductible donation, you can help the White County cross-country team for years to come. Donate and share their story today!
