The Story

Nortonville, KY

A group of local pastors and church leaders in Nortonville, Kentucky came together to create the Hope 2 All Community ministry, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to the community in a variety of ways. According to Feeding America, there are over 6,800 people facing food insecurity in Hopkins County, Kentucky. In 2012, Hope 2 All took over the operation of a local food bank that was closing to combat the food insecurities in the surrounding neighborhoods.

The Hope 2 All food bank provides food resources to the families in the Hopkins and Muhlenberg County communities that suffer from food insecurities. The food pantry currently serves food assistance to approximately 1,300 and 1,400 families monthly. With many clients who must choose between food, medication, or utilities, Hope 2 All provides temporary food relief so clients may put those funds toward other necessities. “We love what we do because we are helping families who otherwise would not be able to buy food, medications, utilities, and other things. We are able to give people options who otherwise wouldn’t have any,” said Brad Payne, Hope 2 All Director.

This fundraiser is part of the Fighting Hunger Challenge. During the third quarter of 2017, WoodmenLife and RedBasket.org are partnering to support our National Community Focus of Fighting Hunger. WoodmenLife chapters are encouraging community hunger relief organizations to fundraise through RedBasket.org and raise money to purchase supplies and provide meals for their communities.

In partnership with WoodmenLife Kentucky Chapter 396, Hope 2 All hopes to raise $1,500 through RedBasket.org for purchasing food items to restock the food bank. “We want to continue providing resources that assist those in need and hopefully provide some relief in their month,” Brad said.
