The Story

Emporia, VA

Tyler Dunn (17) has been a part of Boy Scouts since he was 12 years old. Throughout the past five years, he has advanced through all of the scouting ranks and has begun the process of pursuing the highest rank of Eagle Scout. In order to achieve the Eagle Scout award, Tyler must plan and execute a community service project. He wanted to select a project with deep meaning which would leave a lasting impact for years to come.

After much consideration, Tyler decided that he would like to install a 25 foot flagpole at Main Street Baptist Church which will display the American flag. “The church does not currently have a flagpole, therefore, the project will allow them to demonstrate patriotism to our great country,” Tyler said. He plans to complete the project in July. To complete the project, he will need to purchase the flagpole, American flag, concrete, lights, and all other supplies and materials.

Tyler hopes to raise $2,200 through RedBasket.org to cover the cost of the supplies needed to install the flagpole. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation and help this young man achieve Eagle Scout honors while he leaves a lasting mark for Main Street Baptist Church. “Help this church gain a symbol of freedom and American values that is so important to our country, the beautiful American flag,” said Tyler.
